Hahah...

I was there too. I was amazed at the sheer amount of bots. They looked like an army of ants at a picnic! I was there with my monk in black tattoos, and was feeling a bit nervous about being there (I don't want any "guilty by being a monk n' tattoo association" calls being made....lol).

At least mine were dyed, instead of the "greys" walking around.

Please get rid of them not because they are cutting into my slice of the pie but they ruin the FUN of the game!!!! Yes I am having fun right now with this hard mode change and would just like it to last a little while
How are they cutting into your slice of pie?

Are they taking away your drops? lol no.

If each one of those bots were a person, would you still have a problem?

If you answer no (Which you won't), then the fact that they are bots and not people, never affects you, at all.

If you answer yes (which you will, obviously, because you don't think things through too well)
I imagine it means you want this place to solo to yourself, and bots "exposed" it and ruined your selfish little money-making fun.
Because there couldnt' be any other reason to answer yes.

I don't feel the least bit sorry for you.

Negative. I haven't seen a single bot there. Most Mo/D are human players with no funky names and they are in guilds. Oh yeah I am talking about American districts. Lemme check the International ones...

Christ all mighty why do people have to flame?
My point is that the game mechanic seems to get changed when the bots show up. I don't want it for myself. Everyone can do this. I also point out that it is fun and isn't that the major motovational factor for playing a GAME.

The hard mode has brought back some fun to the game and I just want it to last for a little while before ANet makes a decision to change it because of the number of Bots. Period!

Please don't now turn around bash because I choose to enjoy aspects of the game that you may not.

Do you enjoy hard mode because it's hard? Is that where your joy comes from?

PERFECT

You should be thanking bots, because if Anet decides to buff creatures there they'll be making a relatively easy "hard mode section", harder, thus satisfying you!

But wait, are you saying the mission will be made too difficult and you won't be able to beat it? because of possible counters or skills added to the mob?

PERFECT

Because I'm sure any "nerf" that ArenaNet does will only affect those farming solo and will barely affect party players!

If you called that flaming, I just see that as a way to discredit my post without addressing the points I brought up.

Didn’t think about that one !
Err you have to earn the right to use one....
You got me on a technicality but I am sure A-net could think of some way to keep it under control.

No offense intended, and I sincerely hope I'm mistaken... but you are certainly giving the impression that you yourself actually uses bots. There's no logical reason I can think of for actually taking a defensive stance towards bots.

the way to fix this is just add somethin g simple to the merchant such as a random word, u fill in which changes all the time. then the bots wont be as productive

I don't use bots.

No offense, but anyone who wants bots banned are selfish.

People usually want bots banned because:

-You work hard to farm that area or other areas, and you don't want somebody taking easy mode. EVEN THOUGH THIS NEVER AFFECTS YOU.

-You think bots will encourage Anet to nerf your farm area, this will hurt your income, thus you propose to ban bots, again.. for personal gain.

-You take an easy way out and say it's for the good of the economy. Wrong, people who say this just want their items to be worth more and the gold THEY farm to be worth more.

And honestly, there isn't a problem with the economy, I manually farm once every 4 months for a day, and sell stuff like minipets, and I still manage to get multiple sets of 15k armor.

So what is it? why SHOULD bots be banned?

Because they are primarily used to violate the EULA by harvesting gold for sale for real world cash. Because using the bots violates the EULA.

Because, from a game perspective, it's illegal.

Your turn. Why should it be ok for people to break the rules?

Doesn't really matter for two reasons:

1) There seems to be a difference in drops for bunched up melee mobs and spread out ranged attacking mobs. I solo farmed there over the weekend in normal mode for cupcakes and got a drop from almost every kill.

2) The bots are likely farming in hard mode and selling the golds as unid for 1k each (the new quick cash).

Banning bots will not stop gold harvesting. You are aware if bots are stopped are somehow IN MAGIC LAND completely thwarted. They will be replaced by farm companies located in Asia, played by human players, and it will still be an issue.

"Bots should be banned because they violate the EULA" that's so noble of you. If you want to punish people violating the EULA, so you can get that feel good attitude, wait for people to swear in Lion's Arch and report them.

If you dont' report them? why not? because it doesn't bother you right? so why would you want to ban bots? they must bother you right? and why do they bother you? if it was because they're against the EULA, you'd be reporting people swearing left right and center.

That's what I'm trying to get at.

The same reason as if there were a grow-op 3 blocks down, I woudln't report them to the police or lobby for them being banned.

-It doesn't affect me.
-It doesn't threaten ANYONE, it's not putting ANYONE in danger.

It may be illegal, but it's not hurting anyone.
So why should I go out of my way and lobby for these people?

Actually, I do have more than one report under my belt. However I spend so little time in towns... sigh...

Regardless, it's irrelevant. The rules are the rules. If you agree to play the game, you agree to the rules. If you don't like the rules, find a game with rules you like.

So, basically, you have no respect for the law. Fortunately for a civilized society, you are in the minority.

What in the name of Lyssa's left mammary is a grow-op?

See road speed limits. Or P2P.

Respecting the law "just because it's the law" without any further clarification is a non-starter that describes almost no-one.
